| For up-to-the-minute news on when and where practice is it's best to check the TucsonRollerDerby Yahoo! group. We will be holding a recruiting meeting and try-outs in March 2006 for possible recruits. Until then we recommend strapping on some skates and spending a few weeks getting your skate legs back. Thursdays @ Skate Country East (22nd & Pantano) are the best time for interested girls to come out as there are rental skates available. We always have an official Newbie Liason, either Dirty Teri or Robin Banks, available that night to make sure your questions are answered and interest properly stoked.
Our other practices are held at an outdoor rink or at Bladeworld where you'll need all the equipment (skates, helmet, knee, elbow and wrist guards) and your paperwork (proof of insurance, signed waiver) in to really participate. We do have some spare skates and gear available for newbies but it's first-come first-served!
Sundays are scimmage practices and an excellent time to see what the game looks like even if you're not skating with us yet. |
